A Bristol County man is being remembered after a sudden and tragic death.

On Friday afternoon, Boston police responded to an alley near 219 Tremont Street, the Emerson Cutler Majestic Theatre, after a worker fell from scaffolding.

Family members say that 43-year-old Barry Medeiros of Taunton was the victim.

According to an obituary, Medeiros “spent his final day working at the Emerson Majestic Theater. Barry was known to love the sites where he got to work; Most recently, Fenway Park, Boston University, and many other historical sites.”

Medeiros was being remembered for “his wisdom, sense of humor, big heart, his kind soul, but most of all, the love he had for his children and family.”

A GoFundMe has been created by a family member to help Barry’s children.

Barry’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 9am in St. Anthony Church, 126 School St., Taunton. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at St. Anthony Church and park in the lot behind the church, where funeral home staff will be present to assist.

Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, E Britannia St., Taunton.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway (at Saint Mary’s Square), Taunton.

The fatal incident is under investigation.
