Community coming together to help self-employed Middletown woman seriously injured in crash

A local woman was seriously injured in a weekend crash, and the community is coming together in a big way.

According to Sherri Reinfurt, New Hampshire State Representative, her and her daughter Jenn Mouser, were in a head on collision August 16th while Jenn was visiting her mom.

“We were driving on mast Road just before the Shell station when a vehicle on the other side of the road crossed over and slammed into us, throwing us into the ditch. We were told the young man fell asleep at the wheel.

“The Goffstown Police Department and new Boston Fire Department were on scene to help. They had to tear the doors off the car and cut out the air bags to get us both out. Much gratitude goes to the people that stopped and especially for the woman that prayed over us as we were trapped in our car.

“I suffered a laceration to my head, three broken ribs, my right hand is broken in five places, my clavicle is bruised and my lungs are bruised. I got a mad concussion that induced vomiting every time I moved for 48 hours while I was in the hospital. My knees are swollen with hematomas and it’s very difficult to breathe. I was just released from the hospital so I could continue healing at home. Thank goodness I am married to the miracle worker because we have all the tools to help rehab. I am not able to walk long distances because the room spins with every step, so I do have a wheelchair if I need to leave the house.

“My daughter Jennifer had lower abdomen surgery…..because the seatbelts pushed her organs and burst her colon in two places. She broke her back at L5.

“We are told the young man driving the other car was admitted to the same hospital but was released the next day and is currently at home.”

Mouser is a self-employed hairstylist and Pilates instructor. She is currently in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery, but she has a long road ahead of her which led to a GoFundMe fundraiser and what happened next is heartwarming.

The community has stepped up in a big way, already donating over $20,000 as of this writing in addition to offering prayers and encouragement.

Mouser is in good spirits as she is trying to stay positive about the journey ahead.

With the community behind her she is well on her way to getting back to the jobs she loves.
