A Massachusetts State Rep. is celebrating the passage of her bill that will allow undocumented immigrants in Massachusetts to receive driver’s licenses.

Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier took to social media to thank those who made the passage possible.

“I am proud to announce the passage my priority bill, The Work and Family Mobility Act (H.4461) in the MA House of Representatives! As lead filer with Christine Barber, I am grateful for the support of my colleagues in the House & excited for the future of immigrants in MA.

“First, I would like to thank Speaker Ron Mariano, Chair Straus, & Leader Mike Moran for their support in passing this critical piece of legislation. Additionally, I would like to thank my colleagues in the MA House Progressive Caucus for making this legislation a priority this session.

“I would also like to thank the Driving MA 4ward coalition. Without their tireless support and advocacy, we could not have passed this legislation. Your work is truly amazing. Together we are Driving MA Forward.”

The Work And Family Mobility Act will allow for any MA resident who provides a document to prove identity, date of birth, & residency, to apply for a standard MA license.

Farley-Bouvier believes that the bill makes Massachusetts stronger.

“This will support our undocumented immigrant neighbors in our communities & strengthen our Commonwealth. The benefits of this bill are numerous: creating an equitable Commonwealth for all, supporting our workforce, benefiting our economy, and improving public safety. Undocumented immigrants are our neighbors and contribute to our communities immensely. As the State Rep from Pittsfield, I know personally and from the stories of my constituents how critical driving is in Western MA. Without a car, you cannot access daily necessities such as the grocery store, your children’s school, or work.”

The bill heads to Governor Baker’s desk where even if vetoed, the 120-36 passage would override it if needed.

Truly disgusting for such depraved political scumbags to engage in all out an assault against public policy. The ONLY reason for this horrible legislation is to get these illegals on the voting rolls.
To allow illegal aliens (there is no legal definition or status of ‘undocumented’ immigrant) to gain all the privileges of American citizenship while entering the nation illegally is a shocking attack on the sovereign citizenship of all lawfully present citizens.
A free Nation can not survive like this; the United States must break up and, in fact, will balkanize sooner than later and these filthy political subversives who have undermined the good public order of society must held to account for their crimes

Everyone knows this is about voting. Remember this when your local rep is up for re-election.
