Police respond to paraglider making emergency landing in Freetown
A paraglider ran into trouble on Saturday leaving police to respond to the scene.
According to Freetown Police, at approximately 10:27 a.m., Freetown Communications Center received a report of someone parachuting that was in distress.
The reporting witness described someone parachuting that abruptly landed in a field behind the Excel Recycling Center located off of Ridge Hill Road.
Freetown Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to the area.
After Officer Michael MacDonald arrived on scene, it was determined that the individual was paragliding with a paramotor and experienced engine difficulty leaving him to perform an emergency landing in the open field.
The dare devil who was amazed with the rapid response, thanked the emergency responders for their service.

My emergency landing went awesome, too bad people thought I went down! Not much fun with an engine out, but my training at Aviator Paramotor was key to my success this day.
I am sure people will see me in the air much more, powered paragliding can be incredibly safe! I am a bit of a dare devil, but not required to get into this sport
