Massachusetts State Police, Fall River Police, investigating highway shooting that injured man
Both Massachusetts State Police and Fall River Police are investigating a shooting that took place over the weekend.
According to scanner transmissions, at just before 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, multiple calls came in for up to 15 possible shots fired in the area of Fifth Street.
Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Gregory Jones stated that at approximately 4:00 a.m., Sunday morning Fall River Police requested assistance as part of the shooting investigation.
Once on scene, State Police shut down the I-195 East off ramp at Exit 12-13 where a Joint Police Team including Troopers from the Troop D Detective Unit, Crime Scene Services, and the Firearms Identification Section located shell casings.
The victim drove himself to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The matter remains under investigation by the State and Fall River Police.
