District Attorney identifies 83-year-old pedestrian hit and killed by 19-year-old driver
A Massachusetts man killed in a collision on Saturday has been identified by authorities.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Walpole Police continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on Washington Street.
The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m., when 83-year-old David Johnson of Walpole was struck by an SUV as he was attempting to cross the street, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said.
The pedestrian was transported by the Walpole Fire Department to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver, a 19-year-old woman, remained at the scene.
No charges were immediately filed.
The crash remains under investigation by the Walpole Detective Bureau and Crash Reconstruction Team and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office.
