12-year-old Massachusetts girl dies while in the care of the Department of Children and Families
A Massachusetts girl has died while in the care of the Department of Children and Families.
According to a spokesperson, State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the unattended death of a 12-year-old in Fitchburg on Saturday.
While the DA’s Office did not reveal where the girl was found, according to Boston 25 News, she was found unresponsive at the Bridge Home.
The Bridge Home is run by Luk Inc. on Westminster Street.
According to a service directory, Bridge Home “provides children up to age 12 and their families with services such as residential placement, stabilization, case management, crisis and behavioral management, as well as assessment, clinical services, and reintegration. The Bridge employs a collaborative family-centered treatment planning process; provides recreational, cultural, and social opportunities; and 24-hour on-call crisis management availability.”
