10 people displaced in post-Christmas fire in Fall River
A Saturday afternoon fire has displaced several residents in Fall River.
A call came into dispatch at approximately 2:05 p.m. for smoke showing at 195 Raymond Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered fire and smoke on the first floor of the 3-story-residence.
According to Fall River District Fire Chief Michael Costa, crews contained the blaze to the first floor and had the flames knocked down in 10-15 minutes.
According to the Red Cross, 5 adults and 5 children have been displaced and are being assisted.
Damage to the structure and it’s contents were estimated at roughly $30,000.
The exact cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
