A young Massachusetts man is being remembered after being killed in a weekend collision.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, a call came into dispatch for a serious crash in the area of 245 West Main Street, The Clam Box Restaurant (Route 9).

Reports indicated that a juvenile that was operating an e-bike might be involved.

East Brookfield Police announced that accident recon had been called as well as life flight.

The Clam Box announced Saturday that they were closed until further notice after one of their employees, Michael Earl, died in the collision.

They issued a touching tribute on Sunday.

“Michael you were the exact definition of a great person! Your smile was infectious, your laugh contagious. The absolute perfect employee, friend and family guy!

“The excitement you had when we first hired you a few years ago, I knew right away you were going to be an all-time legend in our work family. You started off a bit shy working and learning at Howards but quickly you came out of your shell to become one of our best employees in history. We quickly saw your potential and watched you rise above the rest so when you asked for a year-round full-time position with us it was the easiest yes I’ve ever had to decide! You covered and saved our butts too many times to count, and the whole world was ahead of you!! RIP MICHAEL EARL!

“To his family, we have no words that could ever express how deeply sorry we are for your loss! To the first responders, our employees and customers that tried everything to help, you all are true heroes in my book.

“Yesterday is a day we all wish we could have back and alter the outcome.

“Please give us time to do this correctly as we pray, grieve and remember Michael, we appreciate your patience!”

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created for Earl’s mother.

East Brookfield Police have not yet released details on the crash.
