Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by 18-wheel tractor trailer on Route 140
Authorities have issued an update after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
According to police, on Wednesday just before 6:00 p.m., Norton Police and Fire responded to a crash in the area of 4 Mansfield Avenue (Route 140) involving an 18-wheel tractor trailer unit and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, the pedestrian was found conscious and alert but had serious injuries.
The pedestrian was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by Norton Fire Rescue.
The crash remains under investigation by Sergeant Sean Mahoney, Patrolman Bryan King, Cameron Eisnor, Detective Rachel Mailloux along with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Truck Team.
No further information was released.
