A local man killed in a Berkley crash is being remembered as his services are announced.

According to Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn, III, Berkley Police received a 911 call at 9:40 a.m. on April 11th from a witness who reported a single seat paramotor crash at the Myricks Airport.

Upon arrival, Berkley Police and EMS located a large divot in the field closest to Padelford Street.   63-year-old Gary Williams of Cranston, RI was located approximately 15-20 feet away and found with life threatening injuries.  Williams was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Police were also directed to the damaged single seat paramotor operated by the decedent.  The paramotor was observed by police to have fuel leakage and a propellor that was broken in multiple locations.

According to an obituary, Wiliams was a devoted husband and “cherished every moment spent with his children, especially attending their golf tournaments and sharing rounds of golf together. In his younger years, Gary had a passion for the open skies and proudly served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. That early love never faded and later found an outlet in paramotoring. He also loved long walks with his dog Bailey. He will be remembered for his love of family, his adventurous spirit, and the joy he found in life’s simple moments. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.”

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Nardolillo Funeral Home & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 24, 2026, from 4:00 – 7:00pm and on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 9:30-10:45am, prior to his service. His service will begin at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory can be made to United States Challenge Cup, Junior Golf Foundation, 100 Amaral St. #12, Riverside, RI 02915. https://uschallengecup.org/content/donate
