Pedestrian killed after morning crash on Route 95
A man has been killed after an early morning crash on Tuesday.
According to Rhode Island State Police, at approximately 2:30 this morning, troopers form the Hope Valley Barracks, as well as members of the Hope Valley Fire and Rescue, responded to an incident on Route 95 North involving a tractor trailer and a pedestrian.
The subsequent investigation revealed that a 2019 International tractor-trailer, operated by Norberto Gonzalez, age 40, of New Haven, Connecticut, was traveling in the low speed lane of Route 95 North in the Town of Richmond. At a point approximately one-half mile north of Exit 3, the vehicle struck a pedestrian who had entered the first lane of travel. That subject has been identified as Clark W. Reynolds, age 64, of Exeter, Rhode Island. Reynolds was pronounced deceased on scene by members of the Hope Valley Rescue.
Troopers from the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit, Commercial Enforcement Unit and Forensic Services Unit also responded.
