6 pets killed in 2 alarm Monday morning fire in Tiverton
Several area fire departments extinguished a 2 alarm fire Monday morning.
At approximately 10:15 a.m. this morning, firefighters responded to 324 Cottrell Road for smoke coming from a house.
According to the Tiverton Fire Department, upon arrival, firefighters found light showing from the home.
The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes.
The fire was contained to one room of the residence, however, the rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage, according to TFD.
Mutual aid responded to the scene from Fall River and Portsmouth while Little Compton, Westport, and Middletown covered the stations. No injuries were reported.
6 pets died in the blaze.
The fire remains under investigation.
