19 and 18-year-olds charged in connection with fatal shooting of Fall River’s Colus Jamal Mills-Good

Two individuals have been arrested in connection to the ongoing investigation into the Thursday morning fatal shooting of 18-year-old Colus Jamal Mills-Good in Fall River.

According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Xzavien Figueroa-Valcarel, 19, of Fall River and Giovanni Nunes, 18, of Fall River have both been charged at this time with Accessory to Murder-After the Fact.

Both defendants will be arraigned Monday morning in Fall River District Court.

Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office, Fall River Police, and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating the homicide.  The investigation is being coordinated by Assistant District Attorney Jason Mohan, who will also handle tomorrow’s arraignment.

Fall River Police responded to the area of Rock and Franklin Streets just before 11:45 a.m. for reports of shots fired.  When they arrived, they located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  The victim, identified as Mills-Good, was rushed to Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, where he was later pronounced deceased.

At least 6 shell casings and 10 evidence markers could be seen at the scene.

The investigation into the homicide is extremely active and Miliote stated that no further information about the facts of the probe can be disseminated at this time.

    Why wouldn’t they take him to Charlton? it’s right up the road

      Charlton doesn’t have a trauma center.

    All good children lost to the system. It’s time we begin to examine and increase resources to help these vulnerable children in crisis before tragedy strikes.
