The two teens killed in a fatal afternoon highway crash in Dartmouth on Saturday are being remembered.
According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at approximately 1:35 p.m., Massachusetts State Police responded to mile marker 19.4 near the Reed Road Exit on 195 West in Dartmouth in response to multiple 911 calls.
Upon arrival, Massachusetts State Troopers located a single motor vehicle crash. The vehicle involved was identified as a 2006 gray Chevy Equinox.
Both occupants had been ejected from the vehicle and the crash dislodged the vehicle’s engine.
Both male victims were transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased a short time later.
19-year-old Kevin Dos Santos Lopes of New Bedford and 18-year-old Amilton De Pina Semedo of Pawtucket, RI are the deceased.
The DA’s Office stated that the single motor vehicle crash is not deemed suspicious.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser and those who knew him, Amilton was a bright, kind, and loving soul who made people smile.
Friends described Lopes as a sweet soul who made a difference and will never be forgotten.
