13-year-old Massachusetts girl killed in pedestrian crash remembered as bright light, source of joy
A young Massachusetts girl who was killed in a pedestrian crash is being remembered.
According to police, on June 27th at just before 2:30 p.m., Worcester Police officers were dispatched to the area of 370 Belmont St for a report of a pedestrian crash.
Upon arrival, officers located a thirteen-year-old girl and the Acura that struck her.
The girl suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The Crash Reconstruction Unit was called in to investigate.
The initial investigation revealed that the Acura’s operator was driving west on Belmont Street. The girl was crossing the street and was struck by the Acura.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The victim’s father, Jose Diaz, through a GoFundMe fundraiser, stated that Gianna Rose Simoncini was more than just his daughter.
“She was a bright light in our lives, a source of joy, and a soul full of dreams. Her sudden departure has left us devastated and grappling with emotions beyond words.”
Simoncini’s services have yet to be announced.
The incident is still under investigation.

Good morning,
I am not sure others have notified you yet & I hate to notify of this but sadly the well written article you wrote has some holes. It saddens me to tell you the “father” of this young girl is taking advantage of Gianna’s passing and the communities generosity. He is not sharing any of the donations with the mother, Rachel Simoncini, who is actually having the services for her daughter. What kind of person does that!!
The father has also not been a constant support in Gianna’s life. He has been in and out of her life since birth! They didn’t have a good relationship & he didn’t even pay child support for her not to mention never being on the birth certificate. It is disgusting what he is doing and exploding his daughter’s death. We are asking everyone who donated to mark the transaction & “fundraiser as fraud and request their refund.
This “man” has essentially taken $9000 from this community. He has not only taken from the community, he’s taken from the grieving of a young mother and her siblings to make her deal with this on top of her deceased child. As soon as I saw the “fundraiser” he set up I found it very strange considering the status of his involvement with Gianna.
I have evidence of what I mentioned but there is no way to attach it here. I tried to email directly but I didnt have a direct email for Ken.
Unfortunately, as I’m sure you know, the police can’t do anything & only the people and gofundme company can. So while she morns the people are trying to help.
images provided is where we are asking any donations to go to but we also fear the community already offered so much not sure any of it will actually go to Gianna’s services. We also feel given the circumstances, we can not use gofund me so we are asking anything be sent to the mothers business directly.
I would like to remain anonymous in this situation , which is why I used an old email account as well. I wanted to do anything I could to help and I felt going to the authors of the articles might help a little.

Hi I am the mother of Gianna’s father Jose Diaz. In other words I’am Gigi’s grandmother. Your anonymous misinformation writer knows nothing Obviously, they don’t have the nerve to say their name, or who they are. Evenmore, they don’t say the reason why Gigi is with her father. Apparently, her mother Rachel didn’t want her around her younger sisters.This caused Gigi to go with her dad for a while. From what I know Gigi and my son her father had a close relationship. When Gigi didn’t know who to turn to she would call her dad. Sometimes she would come spend the night with me and her younger brother Ryan whom she enjoyed being around with. Unfortunately, people talk without knowing the facts. Too, actually, my son spoke to me, and I told him to make a GoFundMe account.Gigi’s mom didn’t want to create one because of her business in Barre,MA.Besides, my son intentions were good, and they didn’t expect my son to get an enormous amount of support from family and close friends, and humanitarian beings with great big generous hearts. The person that wrote this is the one with holes in her fictional story.Lastly, it saddens me that for the most part Rachel Simoncini was not present at the hospital. I Sonia Malave had the Chaplin come into Gianna Rose ICU room, and pray for her soul so that she can R.I.P. My beautiful young spirited granddaughter Gianna Rose will always be remembered, but never forgotten.

I think you are getting confused with people who commented on the article and who wrote the article. I only stated what police released and what the family released in the GoFundMe fundraiser. Neither of which were derogatory. Police typically don’t release the family details you mentioned.
