Police release findings, state no criminal activity, after previously suspicious death of 18-year-old Angelina Rocha

Police have released an update after an 18-year-old Rhode Island teen was found dead under suspicious circumstances.

According to police, on June 6th, 2026, 18-year-old female, Angelina Rocha, was found deceased at a residence at 46 E. Barrows Street.

The Cumberland Police Department, in consultation with the State of Rhode Island’s Office of the Medical Examiner, has concluded their investigation into the matter and did not find any criminal activity present.

Rocha’s family has been apprised of those findings and PD states that there are no further comments being made available at this time.

According to a GoFundMe fundraiser and those who knew her, Rocha was a sweet girl with a big heart.

Chief of Police Matthew Benson offers, “As was stated back in June, our collective thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and loved ones of Ms. Angelina Rocha. This was a very tragic situation for all involved and I am glad that we were able to provide the family with some understanding and closure as to what happened that evening.
