Police receiving push-back from parents when trying to address illegal vehicles on area roads

A South Coast Police Department says that they have received push-back from some parents when trying to address illegal vehicles on area roads.

The Fairhaven Police Department has reportedly responded to dozens of calls for juveniles in the roadway obstructing traffic recently.

“Callers have reported these juveniles circle their cars, swear, and threaten to do harm. We have successfully identified many of these juveniles.”

PD says that parents are not always co-operative when the issue is brought to their attention.

“Sadly, some parents have said we have no right talking to their children and seem to think we’re just picking on their kids, or it must be the fault of the driver of the car.”

They say a lot of it comes down to people having respect for each other.

“We’re reminded of a song… “R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Find out what it means to me”! Where has the respect gone!?”

FPD wants to continue to combat the issue but warns the public about getting upset and trying to take matters into your own hands.

“We thank anyone who has called for this type of incident. We don’t want to see anyone hurt, biker or vehicle operator. The juveniles we have spoken to have been warned and many parents have been called. Be safe out there and realize you never know who you’re getting angry with. They may be angrier than you, violent, and some may even have weapons.”

There is no such thing as Respect anymore. These kids think they own the world. It’s up to the parent/ parent to teach there children to respect people and rules. Also to follows the rules . These children of today have no respect for anything or anyone. They’re are consequences for your actions.
