Visit to see girlfriend turns into $1 million State Lottery win for Massachusetts man; knows exactly where the money is going
A Massachusetts man’s visit to his significant other turned out to be life changing.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jose Fontanez of Boston is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Bonus Bucks” $10 instant ticket game.
Fontanez chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). He said that he plans to use his winnings to purchase a house.
He bought his winning ticket at Old South Diner, 57 Old South Rd. in Nantucket. He said he had gone to Nantucket to visit his girlfriend. The person in front of him bought multiple $4,000,000 Bonus Bucks so Fontanez bought the next 2, one of which was the big winner.
The store receives a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
