Massachusetts man held without bail in brutal fatal stabbing of father; “he’s killing me”
A Massachusetts man is accused of brutally stabbing his father to death.
According to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, shortly before 6:00 p.m. Thursday, Wellesley Police responded to the area of Phillips Park, 11 Maugus Avenue, after a 911 call requesting assistance.
Upon arrival, Wellesley Police located a 58-year-old male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office are working with the Wellesley Police Department to investigate this incident.
During the course of the investigation, 26-year-old James Floyd Bennett III of Wellesley was arrested and was arraigned Friday morning in Dedham District Court where he pled not guilty and was held without bail, court records show.
According to multiple reports, prosecutors say the victim suffered roughly 20 stab wounds and was heard yelling “he’s killing me!”
Bennett has a probable cause hearing scheduled for July 10th.
