Massachusetts man has the future on his mind after hitting big money on a multi-state lottery game
A Massachusetts man is thinking about the future after hitting big money on a lottery game.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Craig Hoctor of Westfield is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state Lucky for Life game after the first five numbers on his ticket matched those selected.
Hoctor claimed his prize at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. He chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes). He said he plans on putting the winnings towards retirement.
He purchased his winning ticket at Circle K, 1400 Russell Rd. in Westfield.
The Lucky for Life game held its final drawing on February 21, 2026 and has been replaced with a new national draw game, Millionaire for Life. Lucky for Life prizes must be claimed within one year following the date of the drawing.
