Massachusetts DOT announces upcoming lane closures on Route 6 eastbound, westbound, in Fall River

FALL RIVER – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will be performing ancillary structure inspections on Route 6 eastbound and westbound on the ramps from Route 79 to the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge in Fall River.

The work is scheduled to take place between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21. Work is anticipated to be completed by Tuesday afternoon, October 21.

Lane closures on Route 6 eastbound and westbound will be in place. Temporary traffic alterations, including lane and shoulder closures, will occur as needed. At least one lane of travel will be maintained at all times, and police will assist with traffic control and safety setups.

Appropriate signage and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.    

Drivers traveling through the affected area should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.    

All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
