A woman was seriously injured saving the life of a teen on I-95, what Taylor Swift did next is magical

A mother of three who was seriously injured while helping teenagers after a highway crash in Rhode Island has received a $50,000 donation from Taylor Swift.

Ashley Taunton of Connecticut was driving south on I-95 in Hopkinton on July 18th during a severe rainstorm with her youngest daughter when she saw a vehicle that had hydroplaned off the highway after Exit 4. She pulled over and ran to help the teens.

While she was assisting them, another car hydroplaned and headed toward the group. Taunton pushed one of the teens out of the way and was struck herself. She suffered life-threatening injuries, including damage to her intestines, liver, spleen, ribs, and diaphragm, and has undergone multiple surgeries. Recovery is expected to take many months.

A GoFundMe fundraiser organized for Taunton, her husband Joe, and their three children has raised more than $75,000 toward a $110,000 goal to cover medical costs, household bills, travel to the hospital, and groceries. The donation by the pop star has also resulted in additional donations.

Swift left a message with her donation: “Wishing you the best recovery possible and sending love to your family! Taylor.”

Taunton later posted her gratitude on social media, writing that she was “speechless” and “sobbing with so much gratitude.”
