Massachusetts JCPenny locations announce re-opening date, new store hours, safety protocol

Another local retailer has announced when they will re-open from their COVID-19 hiatus.

JCPenny has announced that retail stores in Massachusetts will begin opening next week.

The North Dartmouth Mall location will re-open on Wednesday June 17th from noon to 7:00 p.m.

The Emerald Square Mall location in Attleboro and the Wareham location at Wareham Crossing will also be opening on that date with the same hours as the North Dartmouth location.

Designated shopping hours for at-risk customers at all stores will occur on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon. At-risk customers include senior citizens, expectant mothers, and those with underlying health concerns.

According to the company, JCPenny has instituted the following at their locations:

-Contactless shopping: Contact-free curbside pickup, mobile wallet payment, email receipts.
-Diligent cleaning throughout the day, paying extra attention to frequently touched surfaces.
-Social distancing procedures, with reminders throughout the store.
-Limiting the number of customers in the store at a time.
-Hand sanitizer available for customer and associate use.
-Plexiglass shields at each register in use.
-Extended return policy and a longer time window to use your rewards.
-Measures to ensure safety of returned merchandise.
-Associate training on safety practices.
-Providing personal protective equipment to associates, such as face masks.
