According to a 24/7 Wall St report released this month, Fall River was the most dangerous city in the state and the second most dangerous in New England for 2016.
While Fall River Police and initiatives by Mayor Correia, such as a new substation, have reduced crime in the city recently, the figures indicate more reduction in crime is still needed. The mayor in his State of the City and his 2019 budget addressed the need for increasing the police force and combating the city’s drug issues that has led to some of the current crime statistics.
