Massachusetts COVID-19 cases continue increase, hospitalizations increase 18 of last 20 days

Massachusetts saw another increase in cases and hospitalizations in Saturday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 2,841 more positive cases announced today. An increase from Friday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate finally took a small dip to 3.07%.

Massachusetts had seen 2,674 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 180,468 with 27 more reported dead for a total of 10,065.

The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 7,197,095 after 111,066 new molecular tests.

The 3 day average of COVID-19 deaths remained at 20.

Estimated active cases are currently 29,082.

Hospitalizations have increased in 43 of the last 61 days and 18 of the last 20 and increased by 18 today to see the total raise to 705.

Weekly COVID-19 Public Health Report

According to Thursday’s report, Fall River has a 62.5 Average Daily Incident Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) (41.8 last week) which is the fourth highest in the state among communities in the red. New Bedford sits at 29.9. Westport is also in the red at 44.8, Swansea is at 37.6, and Somerset 47.1.

• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 114,110
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 107,158
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 6,952

As of November 14th, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 10,690,665 cases of COVID-19 with 243,580 reported deaths.

The United States saw the sixth daily case record since November 4th on Friday.
