A Fall River police officer was transported to a hospital after attempting to arrest an illegal ATV operator.

According to Deputy Chief Barden Castro, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Saturday, a Fall River Police Officer attempted to stop two individuals who were illegally operating off-road vehicles on a public street (Highland Ave. prior to Wilson Rd).

The officer was able to get one of the ATV operators to stop and tried to place them under arrest. The individual failed to comply and resisted efforts by the officer to place them into custody. During the encounter the officer was knocked to the ground and suffered what is being described as a non-life-threatening injury.

The ATV operators fled the scene.

The police officer was transported by ambulance to the hospital to receive treatment. The officer is alert and expected to recover.

Castro stated that currently there is an active investigation to identify the perpetrators.

Wow, hard to believe, FRPD is usually really good at giving tickets to law abiding older people. But these young’uns got away, dang huh, maybe next time.

Won’t be a joke when one of these asshole atv zombies runs over a child from your family. The police must use escalated tactics to rid the city of the ghetto scum.
