Fall River Police arrest suspect after allegedly breaking into city business

Fall River Police have made an arrest concerning a break-in that took place at a city business.

According to Captain Barden Castro, on Monday, March 28th, it was discovered that Evita’s Thrift Store, 1348 Pleasant Street, had been broken into during the overnight hours.

On March 29th the investigation was assigned to Detective Nicholas Custadio of the Major Crimes Division who was able to obtain video surveillance depicting the female perpetrator. Detective Custadio shared this video footage within the department and other officers were able to identify 37-year-old Ebony Johnathan as the suspect.

In collaboration with other detectives, on March 31st, Johnathan was located and ultimately placed under arrest by Detective John Ruggiero. Several of the stolen items were still in her possession and were confiscated pending their return to the store owner.

Johnathan will be charged with Breaking & Entering into a Building in the Nighttime for a Felony and Larceny from a Building.
