Restaurant at former O’ Gil’s location in Fall River to have grand opening this week
A new restaurant at a well-known location is set to open this week in Fall River.
Adilson Texeira has announced the grand opening of Sosabi Restaurant Bar & Lounge Saturday at 915 County Street, the former O’ Gil’s Portuguese Restaurant.
Texeira and his counsel stated at a previous Licensing Board meeting that the format will be the same as O’ Gil’s, however, renovations were made.
There will be two chefs in the kitchen. One making Spanish and Cape Verdean food and another doing Portuguese and American cuisine.
Most of the staff from O’ Gil’s, including cooks, waiters and bar staff, will be returning.
Texeira, who currently lives in Boston, has over a decade of restaurant experience and has run a restaurant with his mother.
In February, Squeegee2 Inc., represented by Kristen Teves, went in front of the Licensing Board and was granted a transfer of the Common Victualler license from O’ Gil’s as the owners were retiring.
Texeira went in front of the Licensing Board in July to become the new officer of Squeegee2 Inc., replacing Teves.
Teves previously stated that part of the sale of the property included recipes from O’ Gils.
Hours of operation are 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. Monday to Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 1:45 a.m. Friday and Saturday, however Saturday’s grand opening will be 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Texeira hopes to have entertainment in the future.
Reservations can be made at (857) 506-7593.
