Westport and Chicopee pastor becomes first female Chaplain at Massachusetts State Police
Massachusetts State Police Colonel Christopher Mason on Wednesday, Oct. 12, welcomed Reverend Dr. Kate Galop as a new member of the Department’s Chaplain Corps.
Reverend Galop, the MSP’s first female Chaplain, serves as the Pastor of Faith United Methodist Church in Chicopee.
Colonel Mason said Reverend Galop’s appointment is part of an effort to expand the MSP’s Chaplaincy mission to “create more opportunities for officers to engage” clergy as they deal with the stresses and challenges of the law enforcement profession. Colonel Mason said the mission of police Chaplains is an important component of overall officer wellness.
Reverend Galop was sworn-in in Colonel Mason’s office at General Headquarters in front of five of the Department’s six other Chaplains.
Prior to being ordained as Pastor at Faith United Methodist, Reverend Galop served as Senior Pastor at Westport Point United Methodist Church. Previous to that she served as assistant to the pastor of Northside Methodist Church in Brewster. She holds Doctorate of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Va., and earned an ordination certification from Boston University’s School of Theology.

Geez. You’d think they put the first female chaplain front and center. Not the male. But that’s the media for ya.

Chaplains in a Law Enforcement or Military organization don’t have rank over a Father or Priest. The Massachusetts State Police chaplains are all equal in “rank,” and no one gets special privilege over the other so they stand alongside each other. Something a pastor would appreciate because they try to be humble.
Since it’s a Law Enforcemnet organization that has a chain of command, the chaplains hold lower rank, therefore they are in the back behind Father Hamilton. Gender doesn’t give you special privileges in the law enforcement or military.
There are multiple pictures taken at this event, FRR chose one, but other pictures have her and the Colonel only, side by side. It’s a picture, which is unimportant in the big scheme of things. This would be understood by anyone with common sense and not indoctrinated by the liberal agenda, and determined to be a Karen.
You should educate yourself before you “proudly” display that you are a ranking member of the Dunning-Kruger Club.Don’t make this all about you. It’s not. It’s about Kate Gallop.
“I’m not sorry.”
