A home full of animals was found in such poor condition that it was ruled to be uninhabitable.

According to Tiverton Police, Wednesday, just after 9:45 a.m., the Tiverton Animal Control Officer, Tiverton Police Officers, Investigators from the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RISPCA), and members of the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) responded to Roseland Terrace, Tiverton for a report of animals living in hazardous conditions.

Upon arrival, a resident of the home allowed investigators inside. Once inside the home, investigators found 35 dogs and 2 cats. Many of the dogs were in cages while some roamed freely.

A resident told investigators that she was fostering the dogs for an animal rescue agency out of Texas. Subsequent investigation revealed that she is not licensed through RIDEM to operate an animal rescue.

Investigators found the inside of the home to be in very poor condition. The Tiverton Code Enforcement Officer inspected the home and found it to be uninhabitable.

The three adult residents were required to relocate until such a time when the home can be cleaned and repaired.

One Dog At A Time Rescue is listed under the same address.

RISPCA is currently working to remove all animals from the home and find appropriate shelters, according to police. This is an ongoing investigation by the RISPCA and Tiverton Police.
