Officials release name of woman killed in early morning Route 24 crash

Police have released the name of the victim in a serious crash on Route 24.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 2:20 a.m. Saturday, Troopers assigned to the State Police-Milton Barracks responded to a crash involving a car that had rear-ended a dump truck on route 24 northbound in Avon at Harrison Boulevard.

When Troopers arrived on scene they discovered a 2015 Hyundai Elantra, operated by Damiah Bosden-Wigfall, 26, of Stoughton, which had struck the rear of a 2017 Peterbilt dump truck operated by a 67-year-old male from Lunenburg. Both vehicles came to final rest in the passing lane on Route 24 north. The Hyundai then caught on fire. The passenger a 27-year-old woman from Randolph was able to get out of the Hyundai. Damiah Bosden-Wigfall the operator of the Hyundai was determined to be deceased at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by members of Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and State Police Crime Scene Services Section. State Police were assisted on scene by Avon Fire and EMS, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
