A police chase on a local highway resulted in the arrests of several people by Massachusetts State Police.

According to Trooper Brandon Doherty, just before 3:00 p.m., Troopers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle related to an earlier BOLO notification. The vehicle fled the stop, but was quickly spotted getting onto Route 79 North. Troopers followed the vehicle for a short time, but disengaged when the vehicle exited Route 79.

MSP Air 2 was in the area and was able to locate and track the vehicle on Route 24 Northbound near exit 11. After exiting the highway, the vehicle turned onto a loop subdivision in Berkley and Berkley Police Department cruisers were able to block both exits.

The three occupants bailed out of the vehicle, but were apprehended at approximately 3:15 p.m.

Troopers arrested and charged Alexia Springer, 21, of Fall River and Lijah Fortes, 27, of Fall River, with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle, and Kobe West, 19, of Fall River with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Revoked Driver’s License, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Stop for Police, Marked Lanes Violation, and Speeding.

West was also wanted on five outstanding warrants for his arrest.
