Three people who were supporting police were allegedly assaulted this past weekend in Fall River, including an 84-year-old veteran who has been assaulted on multiple occasions.

According to Lieutenant Antonio Elumba, on Saturday, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Fall River Police Officers responded to the front lot of the Fall River Police Department regarding an ongoing disturbance with people fighting.

Upon their arrival, they observed three individuals holding pro-police signs. A fourth individual was observed yelling at the three people and striking one of them in the back of the head with an open hand. 25-year-old Jajuan Torres was taken into custody at that time.

Officers spoke to three individuals, aged 84, 64, and 66, who stated they were on the sidewalk in front of the police department holding signs indicating their support of police. It was reported that Torres approached the individuals and grabbed one of the signs, trying to take it. The holder of the sign, 84-year-old Charlie Chase, was then allegedly pushed to the ground. The two other individuals reported trying to intervene, at which point they were both struck by Torres with an open hand, and one was spat upon.

On June 2nd, 2020, Chase was reportedly attacked and body slammed while holding a Trump campaign sign.

On July 18th 2020, Chase was out holding a sign in support of Trump, when according to Chase, someone went to steal his signs and started swearing at him. Charlie hit a crack in the sidewalk when running to the suspect’s car to try and get his signs back and fell down injuring his arm. Chase said two female bystanders helped him get the signs back.

Jajuan Torres was charged with multiple offenses that included unarmed robbery of a person over 60, assault and battery on a person over 60, and intimidation of a witness.

Throw this garbage Torres is prison and let Tom Hodgson re-educate it. This Torres scum has no right to be outside of bars and living in a civil society. Anti-Law enforcement idiots need to be removed from America and sent to Third World cess-pools. Punish this crime to the limits of the law or we will have a civil breakdown in our city. What does Mayor Coogan have to say on this matter?

And yet I’m sure he made bail out on the streets. In what city does one get assaulted? In front of the police station. #registeredvoter

The entire problem with this country is people can’t keep their hands to themselves. JaJuan was such a crybaby snowflake his poor feelings can’t handle an opposing opinion. Beating up senior citizens. This dummy needs to do jail time and not just a stay in county.

Everyone involved are crackpots. Don’t people have better things to do? From the overzealous Trump supporting crackpots to the idiot who was taken into custody, get a life.

What a stupid comment. ” Don’t people have better things to do? ” The guy is 84 obviously retired and doing nothing but holding a sign. ” Everyone involved are crackpots ” It’s a false equivalence. The two are not the same. One was peacefully holding a sign and the other is a deadbeat criminal degenerate who can’t handle words on a sign and resorted to violence.

To quote Malcom X ” Be peaceful, be courteous , obey the law , respect everyone , but if someone puts his hand on you , send him to the cemetery. ” The 84 year old guy should’ve been conceal carrying and put a few bullets on JuJuan as soon as he got violent. That’s how you deal with trash.
