Electropolisher – StarrTrax (Swansea)

SUMMARY:
• Under moderate supervision, this position will electropolish and passivate formed metal products.
• Deliver electropolishing and passivation services in accordance with work instructions to ensure a quality product is produced efficiently. Other duties will include in-process inspection, pre-cleaning parts, racking/unracking parts, rinsing parts on production line, trafficking parts between departments. This is a production position in an Electropolishing Job Shop.
• Electropolisher must be extremely reliable, willing to accept regular overtime, and willing to work as a member of a team.

This is a position in a fast-paced Electropolishing Job Shop. The position currently reports to the First Shift Production Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
• Follows documented procedure for generating assigned production work daily
• Ensures electropolishing and passivation processes (quality, safety) are adhered to and not compromised.
• Identifies non-conforming product based on visual and/or dimensional inspection criteria
• Swiftly communicates quality and quantity issues to supervisors and/or co-workers
• Manually pre-cleans parts
• Documents in-process inspection results
• Monitors and take appropriate timely improvement action to meet quality and quantity expectations
• Monitors equipment to ensure that it is in proper working order. Recommends maintenance and repair if required.
• Transports in-process work between departments.
• Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards as required by law and company policy.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to read and comprehend written job instructions (in English) required.

Shipper – Gold Medal Bakery
$16 – $18 an hour, Part-time

Overview
Responsible for selecting and moving trayed product from staging area and loading into trailers the quantities as ordered on the shipping orders. Verifies count by variety and records as required. Removes damaged or sub-standard product and sets aside in designated area for supervision to check. Bar loads per standard procedure.

Essential Tasks
• Responsible for following all safety programs and procedures.
• Maintains a high state of safety awareness:
• Follows all rack handling and dock plate procedures.
• Observes proper lifting technique.
• Pays special attention when walking or climbing stairways.
• Is alert to movement of materials, condition of walking surface and other people in order to prevent possible collision or accidents.
• Keeps hands, body and clothing clear of moving machinery.
• Is at all times cognizant of personal and food safety. If any problem (or potential problem) arises, elevates to Supervisor immediately or in a timely fashion, depending on severity of problem.
• Selects, counts, and moves trayed product from staging area and loads into trailers the quantities as required per the shipping orders. Utilizes and navigates through a computerized handheld device to verify accuracy of product on the orders.
• Verifies count by variety and records as required.
• Visually checks product for correct volume, color, topping, split, bag, price, coding, tray count, stickers and any obvious damage. Reports any discrepancies to supervision.
• Properly loads products in staging area onto the trailers.
• Writes in product when placed in trailers, signs verification sheet and records information on necessary shipping documents.
• Removes damaged trays and dollies from use and places in designated area for repair or disposal.
• Secures and bar loads in a safe manner.
• Unloads and stores purchased products in a designated area.
• Trains/retrains as required by company training guidelines (i.e. annual GMPT).
• Keeps equipment and area of assigned work neat and clean at all times. Assists other employees when possible.
• During periods of unworked time or downtime, performs work as assigned by supervision.
• Notifies supervision of any equipment problems or safety hazards.
• Does not change job procedures without authorization from supervision.
• Performs all other related assignments and training of other employees as required by supervision.
