A Durfee High School student overdosed on marijuana this morning after eating a marijuana laced brownie according to scanner reports.
When medics arrived at the scene, the student was alert.
It is currently unclear where the brownie came from.

I haven’t heard of O’D’ing on pot, either. I’ve been really high to where I was feeling so weird I didn’t know what was going on. Then I remembered that I was just stoned and I would be alright in a while and to just relax and “Ride it out”.

The cause of that question is not the marijuana the problem today is that we can’t trust anyone that is selling under the table or in a stationary cannabis store because everything has fethynal and that’s the cause of that kid having a overdose that brownie is laced with any substance in the black marketplace so the problem is not getting it the issues of this is today 2024 we can’t trust anyone who is running cannabis store because everything is not like it was back in the days…. The marijuana is laced with fentanyl. Happens all the time from legal markets. The sellers lace it to sell and they become sddicted to it. Like wow this shit is really really good 👍.they do the same thing with cocaine. They come back faster to get more when it’s laced if you don’t die first.

I read an article last week that said fentynol can’t reach hot enough temps in Marijuana…but if u eat high dose of edibles that can make someone feel like they r having an overdose and it probably is just because of no tolerance, weight, dose…know what u r consuming

This was my thought also. Not far from me, 16yo girl accidentally overdosed on Fentanyl while smoking a joint with her boyfriend. It was the first time she had ever tried “Marijuana” and had no idea that the joint was laced. I believe that the boyfriend was aware that it was laced- although I cannot recall for certain whether that was opinion or fact. It is scary on the streets.

In layman terms this means that in order to induce death a marijuana smoker would have to consume 20,000 to 40,000 times as much marijuana as is contained in one marijuana cigarette. NIDA-supplied marijuana cigarettes weigh approximately .9 grams. A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within about fifteen minutes to induce a lethal response.

I ate a pie made for my sick mother in law to make sure it was ok for consumption. after about 15 minutes my heart starting pumping faster and faster to the point I felt like I would die. I ran to the bathroom and forced it out my system , and felt better emediatly.

That would be the only logical assumption. Fentanyl sucks. It’s making it tough for people with real pain issues and chronic severe pain because people are unknowingly overdosing on fentanyl(opoid), placing ALL legit opoids into the pile of the opoid crisis bull crap. When they’re given correctly for chronic pain it can be life changing. Allowing many chronically I’ll pain sufferers to have a decent life and be able to do every day skills on their own or at least with less help allowing more independence.
Anyone who puts fentanyl or pcp into weed is just a drug dealer getting people hooked on “theirweed” when it’s laced. SHAMEFUL! My sister almost died from a pcp laced joint. It was awful.

Two points. 1. We release what police tell us when we ask. If police stated there was another substance, we would have said so and 2. People continue to associate overdoses with death. People often overdose on substances and don’t die.

Thank you Eliza, I live with cronic back pain that surgery did not help, for a while there it was nearly impossible to get a doctor to write a prescription when my doctor died. I can not function in life with that. Pain is so intense to not have it. Thankfully I found a doctor, but had to actually prove my pain was real.

I od on pot! I didn’t even smoke it, I hated it! Eating pot is a different story. I received NO PROFESSIONAL CARE when thus happened.
My husband & I baked 6 chocolate chip cookies, & I ate 3. I weighed about 110 lbs. Suddenly I got really thirsty & the room was “dancing!” Lol. I was literally stuck inside myself for 2 days!

You cannot overdose on marijuana. It’s is physically impossible. It can however cause other illnesses or unhealthy behaviors to become worse. People need to realize these articles are fully funded by the pharmaceutical industry because they need sick people. There is no money in a cure. Symptom control is where they make a lot of money. So bullshit like this get in people’s heads and those dumb enough to buy into it just make things more difficult. For cannibus a true miracle plant. It would take the place of 60% or more of medications. That people get hooked on. Or die from. Majority of there drug side effects are worse than wtv your original condition. And they know this. What do you mean overdose I once ate a 1/2of a brownie and the paranoia was intense but I kept telling myself it was the effects of the cannabis. After a while it wore off and I was alright.Never did edibles again just smoked a little bit in evening.Although I have to say I would only have 2 to 3 hits and I was good.Probably why the paranoia effect was so bad consumed a lot more than I was used to

If the edible wasn’t “made” w Fentanyl in it or any other narcotics then the kid just had too much & had a panic attack from being too stoned. It’s happened to everyone I’ve known who smoked bud before & it’s happened to myself from too much or too strong of weed. Only thing to do is breath & ride it out 💯. If you don’t “trust” where you get your edibles, get em from a dispensary & start low. Can Always take more but can never take less after smoking or eating an edible. *I’ve Never heard or seen a Marijuana OD in my life
