Police say a level 3 sex offender is facing more disturbing charges.

On Friday at 3:08 p.m., members of the Burrillville Police Department arrested 27-year-old Chandler J. Cardente who Cranston Police say is homeless.

The arrest was the result of a call for a missing 12-year-old girl, according to Burrillville Police. Cardente is accused of kidnapping the girl last week when she was walking home from school and proceeded to leave her on the side of the road in Warwick.

Cardente was charged with Childsnatching and Enticement of a Minor, under the age of 16.

The suspect was brought before a Bail Commissioner and was remanded to the Adult Correctional Institute in Rhode Island.

Cardente was convicted in July of 2014 of First-Degree Child Molestation and Third-Degree Sexual Assault which resulted in him being classified as a level 3 sex offender. He has also been guilty of failing to register on multiple occasions.
