President Trump is headed to the hospital after a COVID-19 diagnosis.
According to USA Today, Trump was going to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, as a precautionary move and is expected to be there for a few days.
White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany stated that Trump “remains in good spirits, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day.” Trump is expected to work from Walter Reed.
President Trump and First Lady Melania both tested positive for COVID-19 which the president revealed in a tweet at approximately 1:00 a.m. this morning.
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”
Trump announced a few hours before that Senior Trump Advisor Hope Hicks had tested positive.
“Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for Covid 19. Terrible! The First Lady and I are waiting for our test results. In the meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!”
Vice President Mike Pence and second lady Karen Pence both tested negative for COVID-19 on Friday. Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden also tested negative.
