Police in Massachusetts warn as Comcast/Xfinity discount deal is a scam
The adage that when a deal seems too good to be true it probably is plays true when it comes to a scam that is making the rounds that police in Massachusetts want to warn the public about.
The East Bridgewater Police Department stated that they are receiving an increase in reports of a scam involving people posing as Comcast/Xfinity employees offering deals to lower their monthly bills.
The victims are being asked to pay up to $300 up front in the form of gift cards to initiate the monthly savings.
The common red flag in all of these cases is that the scammers are having victims attain gift cards as the form of payment. Usually Target, CVS or Amazon.
People are getting victimized by these scams constantly so spread the word and remember that if something doesn’t seem quite right, contact the local authoritues.
