A Fall River man is facing several gun charges after a foot pursuit.

According to Captain Barden Castro, on Monday, just after 8:30 a.m., Uniform Division Officers received information that 23-year-old Carson Underwood was carrying a firearm and had threatened someone.

Ofc. Marques Pires was able to locate Underwood walking in the area of South Main and Peckham Streets. Ofc. Pires attempted to speak with Underwood who fled on foot away from the officer.

Ofc. Kwin Silva joined in the foot chase and he along with Ofc. Pires were able to place Underwood in custody in the area of the Globe Street Car Wash, 950 Broadway.

Police stated that while running from officers, Underwood had been seen clutching a bag close to his body which he discarded while fleeing. Officers retraced the route of the foot chase and located the bag they had seen in Underwood’s possession. Located inside the bag was a loaded 9mm pistol along with a 30 round magazine.

Underwood does not have a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms.

Underwood was placed under arrest and will be facing several felony firearms charges.

This gentleman was carrying an illegal, unregistered loaded 9mm with 30 round magazine (further illegal) ? but with no firearms license to carry (LTC)?

How can this be ? Massachusetts has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation.
No matter how many new guns laws the sleazy Massachusetts legislature and Governor put into effect; every drug addict hoodrat is armed to the teeth but the taxpayer chump citizen has to jump through many hoops to obtain an LTC. ‘Gun Control’ is an unserious sham and complete political theatre

Thanks David; how did you become such a sensible person being in the belly of the progressive beast Massachusetts? Victimhood for the masses is the norm from these out of touch politicos running our lives into the ground. Makes no sense though considering our history during the American Revolution. Lexington and Concord and the midnight ride of Paul Revere to warn the colonists that the British were coming for their gunpowder. A disarmed population are no longer citizens but vassels of the governing state.
