Here’s what’s going on at the Fall River library in the first full week of April.

Take-home Children’s Craft: This week’s craft is an Easter Bunny Clothespin Craft. This cute bunny, holding colored eggs, makes a fun table decoration or addition to an Easter basket. Pick one up in the Children’s Room all week or while supplies last.

Blackout Poetry at the Library: Celebrate National Poetry Month at the library! Everyone is invited to stop in and create a poem by blacking out words of a text to create a poem with the words that remain. A box with supplies will be available in the AV Room all April. Tweens, teens, and adults are invited to share their finished poems online (Instagram preferred) using the hashtag #FRPLblackoutpoetry.

Trivia Night: Monday, April 3 at 6 pm. Compete in an open game of Trivial Pursuit and win fun prizes! To sign up, call the Reference Dept. at 508-324-2700, ext. 3.

Preschool Storytime: Meets on Tuesday mornings at 11 am for stories, activities, and a craft.

Teen Game Night: Tuesday, April 4, 6 pm. Teens age 12-18 are welcome—no signup necessary. A handful of consoles and multiplayer games such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Super Mario Party will be available. A Nintendo Switch is available. Bringing your own handheld devices and controllers is encouraged, the more the merrier!

Play & Learn: Wednesday, April 5 from 10-11:30 am. Recommended for ages 5 and under.

Teen Magic the Gathering Club: Meets on Wednesday evenings from 5-7 pm; for teens 12-18.

Pop-Up Easter Puppet: Thursday, April 6 at 4 pm. Children can listen to a story, The Most Wonderful Egg in the World, then make a pop-up puppet that “hatches” from an Easter egg! Choose from a bunny or a chick. Generously sponsored by Debby and Richard Danner.

On Friday, April 7, the library will be closed for the Good Friday holiday, but will be open on Saturday, April 8 from 9 am – 4:30 pm.

Reiki Infused Meditation for Kids: Saturday, April 8 at 11 am. Kids age 4-10 and caregivers are invited to join Mandy Solecki & Joshua Medeiros of Etereo Scents & Wellness of Fall River for a unique 30-minute Reiki Infused Meditation. The class will include information about Reiki, a mini healing for children, meditation instruction, and other fun activities. Bring water to stay hydrated and be sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes. No experience is necessary. Let’s bring on the zen together!

Max and Ruby Film Festival: Saturday, April 8 at 1 pm. Children age 3 and up are invited to an animated film festival starring those lovable bunnies, Max and Ruby, from the book series by Rosemary Wells. Five short films, including Ruby Red Riding Hood and Max’s Mud Bath, will be shown.

Starting in April, look for evening storytimes for families! The first family storytime will be on Tuesday, April 11 at 6 pm. Kids are invited to come in jammies and bring their favorite stuffed animals as a relaxing way to end the day.
