Massachusetts saw a decrease in cases, active cases, and hospitalizations, in Monday’s COVID-19 report.
Massachusetts saw 1,150 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Sunday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has increased slightly to 1.90%. Yesterday’s 1.86% was the lowest it had been since October 25th.
Massachusetts had seen 1,316 more positive cases announced yesterday.
The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total confirmed cases to 540,794 with 27 more reported dead (26 confirmed, 1 probable) for a total of 15,853 (15,534 confirmed, 319 probable).
The overall amount of tests administered in Massachusetts is now 15,599,873 after 49,929 new molecular tests.
The 7 day average of confirmed COVID-19 deaths is currently 40.9.
Estimated active cases saw a decrease to 35,660.
Hospitalizations have increased in 92 of the last 159 days and 67 of the last 118 and saw another decrease of 39 to lower the total to 888. COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to decrease as of late as there were 2,428 in the Bay State on January 4th. November 17th was the last time that COVID-19 hospitalizations were this low.

According to the February 18th report, Fall River has a 44.8 Average Daily Incident Rate per 100,000 (Last 14 days) (67.2 last week). New Bedford saw a decrease to 50.3 (was 62.4). Westport is also in the red at 42.2 (was 46.5), Swansea is at 39.9 and was 52.8 last week. Somerset also saw a decrease as they sit at 27.4 (was 50.9). Freetown decreased to 45.0 from 49.7. Dartmouth is currently at 42.4 after seeing 52.7 last week. Acushnet has the highest rate in Bristol County at 50.6 (was 73.1).

As of February 22nd, according to the CDC, the United States has seen 27,938,085 cases of COVID-19 with 497,415 reported deaths.
