Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding an overnight single motor vehicle crash that left one teen dead, and two others hospitalized with serious injuries, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz, Marshfield Police Chief Phillip Tavares and Norwell Police Chief Edward Lee have announced.

At approximately 12:43 a.m. this morning, Marshfield Police received a call for a single car motor vehicle crash into a tree 172 Forest Street. Marshfield Police and Fire responded and located three male occupants trapped inside the motor vehicle. The 16-year-old operator was removed from the wreck and taken to South Shore Hospital before he was re-routed to Children’s Hospital in Boston for treatment. Marshfield Fire Department worked to extricate the two passengers. A 16-year-old male was transported to South Shore Hospital with serious injuries. A 17-year-old male passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. He has been identified as Nicholas Wanderley of Norwell.

Another deadly accident from a teen. What is a sixteen year old doing driving around at 12:45 in the morning? Parents let them? I’m no Saint but when I first got my license I wasn’t driving around that late. Sad.

What is going on with teens now? i thought they had a driving curfew? where are the parents? why did they let them drive? now another teen tragically dies. This is what happens when parents try to be their kids friends instead of being their parent.

This is what happens when parents do not look over their kids, rather try to be their friends
