Officials have released the name of a man that was killed in a weekend crash.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 4:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, Troopers assigned to the State Police-Foxborough Barracks were called to a crash on I-95 southbound in Foxborough. Once on scene, Troopers discovered a 2016 Nissan Altima that had spun sideways and struck a guardrail on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

When Troopers arrived on scene, they discovered the operator and sole occupant, Amani Chambe, 24, of North Providence R.I., suffering severe injuries. Chambe was later determined to be deceased.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash and the left and center lanes of Route 95 southbound were closed for approximately 2.5 hours.

Friends and family described Amani as a hard-working, fun-loving young man that was loved by many due to how he treated every single person around him. He was an excellent joker who brought smiles to everyone.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been created for funeral expenses and has raised nearly $17,000 as of this writing.

The crash remains under investigation by members of Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and Troop H detectives. State Police were assisted on scene by Foxborough Fire Department and EMS.
