Loved ones are dealing with the tragic loss of a 24-year-old Massachusetts man on Friday.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Massachusetts State Troopers from the Andover Barracks, along with Wilmington Police and Fire, responded to a crash involving a motorcycle on Route 93 northbound, at Exit 31, in Wilmington. The crash resulted fatal injuries to the operator of the motorcycle, identified as Rodrigo Rosa, 24, of Wilmington. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The exact cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation by Troop A of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section.

Rosa’s girlfriend of almost 7 years, Genevieve, wrote a sad and touching tribute to Rosa.

“My heart is broken into a million tiny pieces, and I can’t breathe. I was lucky enough to spend six years and however months with you, but it wasn’t enough. I always thought I was so lucky to meet my soulmate so young, but I never thought this would happen. There was never a doubt in my mind that I could give him my heart, but I guess life would’ve been too good if we were able to grow old together. I can’t fathom the fact that I have lost my Rodrigo. He cared so much for me. Our favorite holiday was Halloween; he always loved to dress up and look nice. We were supposed to be Cosmo and Wanda in just a few days. Rodrigo was my biggest supporter; he would always tell me how excited he was for me to graduate and become a nurse. And oh, how much I wish he could be there. His love for cars was something I would never understand, but I loved how happy they made him. I know that he died happily, doing what he loves, even though I wish he were still here with me.”

A GoFundMe fundraiser was created for funeral expenses and raised over $18,000 as of this writing.
