Massachusetts sees drop in deaths and hospitalizations, rise in cases in COVID-19 report

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations and deaths in Tuesday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 438 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. An increase from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate sits at 2.2%.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 111,033 with 9 more reported dead for a total of 8,436.

Massachusetts had seen 165 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

13,312 tests were performed, over 2,000 more than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,611,827. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,234,106.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 69 of the last 86 days and saw a decrease of 21 today to see the total drop to 354.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to July 28th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 72,481
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 70,449
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,032

According to the CDC, as of August 3rd, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 4,649,102 with 154,471 dead.
