A Massachusetts and Rhode Island nurse has been suspended pending a hearing after being accused of inappropriate conduct.

According to the Rhode Island Board of Health, on or about June 26, 2023, they received a complaint alleging sexual misconduct and inappropriate, unprofessional behavior towards a patient by Raymond Dillon III while working at an unnamed urgent care center.

According to the accusations, on June 24, 2023, a female patient presented to the urgent care center for suspicion of a vaginal yeast infection. While in the examination room, Dillon commented on the patient’s arm tattoo and proceeded to rub that area on her arm. He noted the patient also had a tattoo on her upper left leg, which was partially obstructed by her shorts; without permission, Dillon is accused of moving the shorts up the patient’s leg to reveal the tattoo and began rubbing her leg.

He did not don gloves when performing an external genitalia examination, according to the complaint.

Dillon allegedly evaluated the patient’s vaginal area for discharge by gloving his right hand and placing a finger in her vagina for several seconds; once the finger was removed, he stated that there was no vaginal discharge on the glove.

Dillon is also accused of holding the patient’s left thigh and writing his name and personal telephone number on the thigh while encouraging the patient to call him as he could provide any prescriptions the patient needed. He commented about taking the patient out for wine and stated that this would not be the last time they saw each other.

The hearing is scheduled for Monday July 10.
