Massachusetts reaches 1,500,000 COVID-19 tests, 15 more reported dead

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations in Thursday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 304 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate has reached 2% for the second straight day. The MDPH credits a technical reporting error by a hospital group that delayed results causing the high case numbers the past 2 days.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 109,400 with 15 more reported dead for a total of 8,375.

Massachusetts had seen 356 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

12,224 tests were performed, over 3,300 less than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,507,320. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,161,454.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 66 of the last 81 days and saw a decrease of 23 today to see the total drop to 367.

According to the CDC, as of July 30th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 4,405,932 with 150,283 dead.
