A Massachusetts couple was supposed to get married this Saturday, instead, the groom is deceased, and his fiancé is recovering from serious injuries after a motorcycle crash.

On Saturday, November 5, just after 2:00 p.m., the Seabrook NH Police Department responded to a crash with reported injury involving a vehicle and a motorcycle in the area of 319 Route 107.

According to New Hampshire State Police, upon arrival, it was determined that a 2010 Toyota Corolla was travelling north on Route 107 and attempting to make a left hand turn into the Brook Casino when it collided with a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle travelling south on Route 107. The operator of the motorcycle, Jeff Zajac of Saugus, was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger on the motorcycle, Jessie Edom, suffered serious injuries and was transported to the hospital where she is in the ICU. The occupants of the Toyota Corolla were uninjured.

Zajac and Edom were on their way to put down their final deposit on the wedding when the accident took place, according to WHDH.

The family is raising money for medical expenses for Edom through a GoFundMe and has raised almost $20,000 as of this writing.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors. All aspects of the crash remain under investigation and anyone who may have witnessed the crash or the events leading up to the crash are asked to contact Trooper First Class Nathaniel Goodwin at Nathaniel.D.Goodwin@dos.nh.gov or by voicemail at (603) 223-8854.
