Vicente’s Supermarket edging closer to opening new Fall River location
It appears a new grocery store is edging closer to opening in the Scholarship City.
In April of 2024 it was announced that the Rite-Aid at 10 Stafford Road in Fall River was closing, leaving a vacancy.
Vicente’s Supermarket has announced that they will be opening at the former Rite-Aid location.
Vicente’s is a Cape Verdean family-owned business founded by Manuel Vicente in 1994.
Led by Brian and Jason Barbosa, who are brothers, the supermarket sells items from around the globe, specializing in an array of Brazilian products, from perishables to groceries.
Vicente’s is also known for fresh meats, produce, and fish.
The grocer aims to make customers feel at home and to provide access to healthy food for underserved communities. SNAP/HIP and WIC are accepted.
Vicente’s currently has locations in New Bedford, Brockton, and Pawtucket in addition to plans for a spot in Roxbury.
According to a social media post from Fraser Project Management on April 29th, the Vicente’s Supermarket project in Fall River was entering its final phase of interior buildout within the existing facility. With the renovation work nearing completion on that date, they were preparing for refrigeration installation and the start of finishes.
While the supermarket hasn’t released an exact opening date in Fall River, they previously stated that its “coming soon”.
